1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using SquarePic (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service.

2. Description of Service
SquarePic is a web-based image processing tool that allows users to:
- Add colored or blurred backgrounds to images
- Resize images to square formats (e.g., for Instagram)
- Add custom watermarks to images
- Process images entirely in the browser (client-side)
Important: All image processing occurs locally in your browser. Your images are never uploaded to our servers.
2.1 Service Tiers
SquarePic is offered in three tiers:
- Free Tier: Full access to all image processing features with a watermark applied to exported images. No payment required.
- Pro Subscription: Monthly or yearly subscription that removes watermarks and enables cloud synchronization of settings across devices. Settings are stored for 6 months after subscription expiration or cancellation.
- Lifetime Purchase: One-time payment for permanent access to all features (no watermarks, cloud sync included). This is a legacy tier and may not always be available for new purchases.
3. License and Access
3.1 Access Rights by Tier
- Free Tier: No payment required. Access to all features with watermarks on exported images. No cloud sync functionality. Access continues indefinitely at no cost.
- Pro Subscription: Monthly or yearly subscription grants access to premium features (no watermarks, cloud sync) for the duration of the active subscription. Upon cancellation or expiration, you revert to Free tier access. Cloud settings are retained for 6 months after cancellation/expiration to allow reactivation.
- Lifetime Purchase: One-time payment grants permanent, non-transferable access to all features (no watermarks, cloud sync included) for as long as the Service remains available. This is a personal license and may not be resold or transferred.
3.2 Usage Limits
There are no limits on:
- Number of images you can process (all tiers)
- Frequency of use (all tiers)
- Download or storage limits (all tiers)
All processing happens locally in your browser, so performance depends on your device capabilities.
3.3 Account Sharing
Your account is for personal use only. Sharing your account credentials with others or providing commercial access to the Service through your account is prohibited. Pro subscriptions and Lifetime purchases are limited to use by a single individual. We reserve the right to suspend accounts that violate this policy.
4. Acceptable Use Policy
4.1 Permitted Use
You may use the Service for any lawful purpose, including:
- Personal image processing
- Commercial use of your processed images
- Creating content for social media or marketing
4.2 Prohibited Use
You may not:
- Use the Service for any illegal purposes
- Process images containing illegal content (child exploitation, terrorism, etc.)
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the source code
- Circumvent security measures or rate limiting
- Use automated tools to abuse the Service
- Resell access to the Service
- Share your account with multiple users or organizations
4.3 Right to Refuse Service
We reserve the right to refuse service, suspend, or terminate access to any user at any time, for any reason, including:
- Violation of these Terms
- Excessive account sharing
- Fraudulent payment or chargeback abuse
- Abusive behavior toward our support team
- Any activity we deem harmful to the Service or other users
5. Intellectual Property
5.1 Service Ownership
The Service, including its code, design, features, and trademarks, is owned by A-Line Services and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.
5.2 Your Content
You retain full ownership of all images you process using the Service. We do not claim any ownership rights to your images.
5.3 Marketing Use
By using the Service, you grant us permission to use screenshots or examples of processed images (with identifying information removed) for marketing, promotional, or educational purposes. If you object to this, please contact us at support@a-line.be.
Note: Since image processing happens locally and images are not uploaded to our servers, this primarily applies to publicly shared content or examples you voluntarily provide.
6. Payment and Billing
6.1 Pricing and Payment Options
The Service offers multiple payment options:
- Free Tier: No payment required. Access continues indefinitely at no cost.
- Pro Subscription: Available as monthly or yearly recurring subscription. Pricing is displayed on our website and may be subject to promotional discounts.
- Lifetime Purchase: One-time payment option (when available). Current pricing displayed on our website.
6.2 Payment Processing
Payments are processed securely through Stripe. We do not store your credit card information. By making a purchase or subscribing, you agree to Stripe's terms of service.
6.3 Subscription Billing
For Pro subscriptions:
- Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period (monthly or yearly) unless canceled
- You will be charged on the renewal date using your payment method on file
- We will send email notifications before each renewal
- You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period
- No partial refunds for mid-cycle cancellations (you retain access until the end of the paid period)
6.4 Subscription Expiration
When a Pro subscription expires or is canceled:
- You immediately revert to Free tier access (watermarks will be applied to exported images)
- Cloud sync functionality is disabled
- Your cloud-synced settings are retained for 6 months to allow reactivation
- After 6 months, cloud settings are automatically and permanently deleted
- Your account and transaction history remain intact
6.5 Taxes
Prices are inclusive of applicable Belgian VAT. Additional taxes may apply based on your location.

7. Service Availability and Modifications
7.1 Availability
We strive to keep the Service available 24/7 but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to:
- Scheduled maintenance
- Technical issues or outages
- Force majeure events
7.2 Service Modifications
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of significant changes.
7.3 End of Life (EOL) Plan
If we decide to permanently discontinue the Service:
- We will provide at least 90 days' advance notice to all users
- We will announce the EOL plan via email and on our website
- We will open-source the core functionality so users can continue using it independently
- No additional refunds will be provided beyond our standard refund policy period
8. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability
8.1 "As Is" Disclaimer
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Warranties of merchantability
- Fitness for a particular purpose
- Non-infringement
- Accuracy, reliability, or availability
8.2 Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, A-LINE SERVICES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:
- Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
- Loss of profits, data, or goodwill
- Service interruptions or data loss
- Any damages arising from use or inability to use the Service
IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE SERVICE.
8.3 User Responsibility
You are solely responsible for:
- Backing up your images before processing
- Ensuring processed images meet your quality standards
- Verifying you have rights to use any watermarks or fonts
- Compliance with applicable laws regarding image content
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless A-Line Services, Arthur De Witte, and our affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from:
- Your use of the Service
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any third-party rights
- Your content or images processed through the Service
10. Privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Please review it to understand how we collect, use, and protect your information.
11. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
11.1 Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Belgium, without regard to conflict of law principles.
11.2 Jurisdiction
Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Oudenaarde, Belgium.
11.3 EU Consumer Rights
If you are a consumer in the EU, nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights under EU consumer protection law, including the right to pursue claims in your local courts.
12. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be effective when posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. For material changes, we will:
- Send email notification to active users
- Provide a 30-day notice period before changes take effect
- Allow you to terminate your account if you disagree with the changes
Continued use of the Service after changes constitute acceptance of the updated Terms.
13. Termination
13.1 By You
You may stop using the Service at any time. To delete your account and data, contact support@a-line.be.
13.2 By Us
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service:
- For violation of these Terms
- For fraudulent or illegal activity
- If required by law
- At our sole discretion for any reason
Upon termination, your right to use the Service immediately ceases. Data retained for legal or accounting purposes will be handled according to our Privacy Policy.
14. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
15. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, Refund Policy, and Cookie Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and A-Line Services regarding the Service.
